Ways to Work Together
You may already know which service fits, or you may only know that something needs attention. These options differ in privacy, format, and purpose. Each begins with an honest conversation about what you are carrying and whether Vanessa's care is the right match.

Separate 90-Day OfferingWho Vanessa Works With
Vanessa works with teens, adults, and older adults, roughly ages 13 through 65 and beyond. She sees individuals, couples, and families, including veterans and people moving through retirement, caregiving, relationship changes, identity questions, or major life shifts.
Vanessa offers online sessions to clients located anywhere in Texas.
You do not need a perfectly named concern. People often arrive with several connected things, grief and anxiety, trauma and relationships, burnout and substance use. The work can begin with what feels most immediate.

How She Works
Vanessa begins from a client-centered and attachment-based position: your experience is not reduced to a diagnosis, and patterns are understood in the context of relationships, safety, and what you learned to do to get through difficult moments.
CBT can help examine thoughts and behaviors that keep a painful cycle going. DBT offers practical ways to regulate intense emotion, tolerate distress, and communicate more effectively. ACT helps you make room for difficult internal experiences while choosing actions connected to your values. Psychodynamic and attachment-based work can uncover older patterns that still shape how you protect yourself today.
For couples, Gottman-informed care makes conflict more observable and less blaming. Family systems and relational approaches consider how each person affects the whole. Mindfulness, strengths-based, and trauma-focused practices are woven in when useful. Vanessa does not apply every method to every person; together, you decide what fits your history, needs, and readiness.
What to Expect
The initial intake is 60 minutes. It covers what is happening now, relevant history, what has helped before, and what you want to change. You do not need a complete account or every difficult detail in the first meeting.
Ongoing individual sessions are 60 minutes. Frequency is decided together; many people begin weekly or biweekly, then revisit the rhythm as needs and progress change. Couples and family work follows an agreed cadence.
There is no honest standard number of sessions. Focused concerns may need a shorter season, while longstanding patterns, trauma, complicated grief, or relationship repair often need more time. Vanessa checks in about direction rather than assuming therapy should continue indefinitely. The aim is genuine growth at your pace while still challenging patterns that have become too comfortable.
Find a Starting Point
Three short questions can help you explore a possible path.
Compare Your Options
None of these paths is more committed or more serious than another. The useful question is what kind of attention, privacy, and connection you can use right now. Some people begin in one setting and later add or move to another.
