Dallas County

Online Therapy in Irving, Texas

Irving lies in Dallas County between Dallas and DFW International Airport, taking in Las Colinas, Valley Ranch and the neighborhoods that stretch south toward Grand Prairie. Online sessions with Vanessa Gross, LMFT, can focus on a career change you are weighing, stress that has turned into burnout, or depression that follows you home from work.

Who Can Book From Irving

You do not need an Irving address, and you do not need to drive anywhere. What counts is that you are in Texas once the session is underway, so you might join from home in Valley Ranch one week and from a borrowed conference room in Las Colinas the next. Coppell, Grand Prairie and the rest of the Dallas area work the same way.

Career Questions, Burnout and Depression

A job that once fit can start to feel wrong, and staying can seem safer than the uncertainty of changing course, even while it wears you down. Vanessa helps you think through a career change: what you want, what you are afraid of losing, and which old expectations are steering the decision.

Burnout and depression can be hard to tell apart, since both bring exhaustion, irritability and a loss of interest. Sessions look at the workload and at what keeps you from setting limits on it. More on stress and burnout.

Should thoughts of suicide or a crisis come up, call or text 988, and call 911 if someone is in immediate danger.

Fitting Therapy Around an Irving Workday

With no drive to an appointment, a session takes the hour itself and little else. If your schedule has room in the middle of the day, ask about open times during the free consultation. Putting the session on your work calendar as a private block, rather than a named appointment, keeps the time protected without explaining it to anyone.

How Vanessa Approaches Work-Related Problems

Work stress often connects to something older: a habit of over-delivering, a fear of disappointing people, or a family story about what counts as success. Vanessa looks at both layers. ACT helps you act on what matters to you even while doubts are loud, CBT helps with the thoughts that keep you overworking, and psychodynamic work traces where the pressure to keep going comes from.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, if you can get real privacy for the full hour, such as a meeting room with a door that closes. Use a personal phone or laptop rather than a work computer, so your sessions stay off your employer's systems, and wear headphones so nobody passing the door hears Vanessa. If privacy at work is uncertain, home or a parked car is the safer choice.

Vanessa can only hold sessions while you are physically inside Texas, so a week out of state means moving that session to a day you are home. Trips inside Texas are fine: a private hotel room in Austin or Houston works as well as home. When you know a trip is coming, let Vanessa know at least 24 hours ahead to reschedule, because late cancellations are charged a fee.

It can be hard to judge on your own, and the two often overlap. One rough guide: burnout tends to ease with real time away from work, while depression usually comes along on the time off. Vanessa will ask about changes in your sleep, mood, energy and interest, and how long they have lasted, which helps both of you see what is going on.
