Collin and Denton Counties
Online Therapy in Frisco, Texas
Frisco straddles the line between Collin and Denton counties, and for therapy over secure video that line changes nothing. Vanessa Gross, LMFT, works with couples and individuals anywhere in the city, including Gottman Method couples work, support through life transitions, and therapy for adult ADHD.
Who Qualifies in Frisco, Prosper and Little Elm
Vanessa is licensed in Texas, so what matters is being in the state at session time. That includes all of Frisco on both sides of the county line, along with Prosper, Little Elm, The Colony, Plano, Allen and McKinney, and every other part of Texas.
Life Transitions and Adult ADHD
Life transitions bring strain even when they are wanted: a new baby, a new job, a move to an unfamiliar suburb, or the last child leaving for college. Vanessa helps you sort out what has changed, what you miss, and what kind of routine fits the new shape of your life.
Big changes can also expose adult ADHD that used to be manageable, because the old structure that held things together is gone. In therapy, the focus is on skills, emotions, relationships and self-understanding. Formal ADHD testing and prescriptions are outside what Vanessa provides; if you want an evaluation, raise it with her and she will help you think about where to go from there.

What Gottman Method Couples Work Looks Like
Vanessa's couples sessions use the Gottman Method, which pays as much attention to small daily moments as to big fights. Sessions look at how well you know each other's day-to-day world, how you respond when one of you reaches for attention, and how you recover after a hard conversation.
That can mean noticing the half-heard comment at dinner that never got an answer, keeping track of what your partner is worried about this week, or saying thanks out loud for the things you have both stopped noticing.
A Short Checklist Before Each Session
If you are new to the area, a video session means no new address to find and no new route to learn. What it does need is a little preparation:
- A room you can shut the door on, picked out before the session starts.
- Headphones if other people are home, so the conversation stays private.
- A few minutes to settle in instead of rushing straight from the last thing.
- For couples, an agreement about who handles the door, the dog and the phone.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Plan for an uninterrupted hour if you can: a sitter, a relative, or a time when your child is reliably napping or at daycare. Even a very young child in the room changes what both of you feel free to say. If an interruption happens anyway, pause, deal with it, and pick the thread back up; nobody expects a household with a toddler to run silently.
Sessions can start once you are physically in Texas; until the move, Vanessa's Texas license doesn't cover sessions with you. If the moving date is set, it makes sense to plan a first session for soon after you arrive, since unpacking and settling in can strain any couple, and having support lined up early helps.
It can be. ADHD often shows up between partners as forgotten plans, unfinished tasks and one person turning into the household reminder system, with frustration building on both sides. In couples sessions, Vanessa looks at those patterns with both of you, while individual sessions can focus on ADHD skills. The free consultation is a good place to decide where to begin.
