Online Therapy in Austin, Texas
Therapy with Vanessa Gross, LMFT, happens over secure video, so it works the same from Hyde Park, Circle C or Pflugerville as from anywhere else in Travis County. Three areas of her work tend to tangle together for adults: ADHD, stress and burnout, and the question of whether to change careers.
ADHD, Burnout and the Urge to Change Careers
ADHD in adults can look like a dozen open browser tabs, bills paid late despite good intentions, and years of hearing that you could do better if you tried harder. In adult ADHD work, Vanessa focuses on skills, emotions, relationships and self-understanding: routines that fit how your attention works, and less shame about the days it doesn't cooperate. She doesn't do formal testing or prescribe, but if you are after an evaluation, the two of you can work out what the next step might be.
Stress and burnout usually build slowly: dread that starts the night before the workweek, a short fuse with people you like, rest that doesn't restore anything. Vanessa uses ACT and CBT to help you sort out which demands are yours to carry and to practice saying no without days of guilt afterward.
A career change can grow out of burnout or arrive on its own. Sessions give you room to test the idea against your values, your finances and the people who rely on you, before you announce anything.
Austin, Its Suburbs and the Texas Requirement
The city sits in Travis County, in Central Texas, with pieces in Williamson and Hays counties. Because Vanessa is licensed in Texas, each session has to take place while you are somewhere in the state. Mueller, Zilker and Crestview are all covered, as are Cedar Park, Leander, Buda and Kyle, along with any other Texas town you happen to be in that day.

Fewer Steps Between You and the Appointment
A video session needs an hour and a private spot, and that is the whole list. You can take one between calls, over lunch, or in a gap in the day that would never stretch far enough to cover a drive across town and back.
For adults with ADHD, fewer steps can make the difference between keeping an appointment and missing it. There are no keys to find, no parking to hunt for and no address to remember; the session opens on the device already in front of you.
Keeping the First Step Small
If getting started is the hard part, the free 15-minute phone consultation keeps the first step small. Ask for it through the Work With Me page, then spend the call explaining what has been happening and hearing how sessions and fees work before you commit to anything.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
You don't have to pick an order. The two are often tangled: a job can feel wrong because it fights how your attention works, or because it no longer fits what you value. Sessions can pull those threads apart, so that if you do make a change, you choose work that suits you instead of escaping the old job only to meet the same frustrations again.
Vanessa asks for 24 hours' notice to cancel; canceling later than that, or missing a session, means a fee. With burnout in the picture, it is also worth noticing the pattern: if therapy is always the first thing dropped when work gets loud, that is useful material to bring to your next session.
Systems often fail for reasons the system can't see: the shame of falling behind, a routine built for someone else's brain, or a task that feels impossible to start for reasons that have nothing to do with time. Therapy looks at those reasons. Vanessa helps you understand how your attention works and build habits around it, and she works on the frustration and self-criticism that make the next system harder to trust.
